Why Lookout Mountain?

Lookout Mountain Veterinary Clinic provides excellent medical care for your pets in a warm, friendly environment, using state-of-the-art equipment by an experienced and well-educated staff.  The clinic has been operating at the same location for 40 years (since 1984!) and has an extensive list of loyal, long-time clients.

Most families love their dogs and cats as much as they love their children and want their animals to receive only the best medical care. That’s what you’ll find at Lookout Mountain.

Dr. Schure has been practicing at LMVC for 27 years and is now seeing a second generation of families. Dr. Cook has retired from regular practice but still provides continued mentorship and support. It's amazing to think that the wonderful Dr. Edens has been with us for 9 years. Our friend Dr. Courtney Leibering, welcomed to the family in 2021, already has a large following. All our doctors focus on preventive medicine as well as complex medical and surgical cases.  Their goal... to provide the highest standard of veterinary medical care.

The doctors and technicians all work together as a team.  Most of Lookout Mountain’s technicians and support staff have been with the clinic for ten years or more, and many have earned their Certified Veterinary Technician degrees.

Dogs and cats that aren’t sick can enjoy a spa day at Lookout Mountain’s full-service on-site grooming facility. Each pet is special, and each pet owner is important.  Both deserve to be treated with respect and expertise. You’ll know after your first visit you have chosen the right clinic.

    Retired

Jeff Cook had always planned to be a medical doctor.  He shifted gears when the Irish Setter he was given as a junior in college needed surgery.  The care his dog received at the Veterinary school at the University of Illinois piqued his interest in veterinary medicine.  And it was at Illinois’ College of Veterinary Medicine where he earned his DVM degree four years later.

  • Celena D. Edens (formerly Quist)
    DVM

Celena Edens wrote a book when she was in third grade. It was about how she wanted to be a veterinarian when she grew up. She credits her grandfather with igniting her interest in veterinary medicine, tagging along with him to his Phoenix veterinary hospital when she was just three. But before heading to vet school, Dr. Edens spent many years training and performing as a professional dancer, until the day she felt compelled to fulfill her dream. So, she went back to school, graduating in 2015 from Oklahoma State University with a DVM.
